Religion and women. Resistances in the Iberian Empires, 1500-1850
As part of the project funded by the European Commission RESISTANCE. Rebellion and resistance in the Iberian Empires, 16th-11th centuries (778076- H2020–MSCA-RISE-2017), 12 episodes of resistance that occurred in the Iberian empires of the modern era are presented.
Almost all of them have religion as a transversal theme, and women as protagonists. In these events, the diversity of locations, chronologies, cultural contexts, agents and resistance practices stands out. The protagonists have in common that they were people considered at the time to be of little importance, or even discriminated against and segregated.
