2nd Cross-Border Archives Meeting

The Regional Department of Tourism, Culture and Sport of the Regional Government of Andalusia, through the Provincial Historical Archive of Huelva, is organizing the 2nd Cross-Border Archives Meeting in collaboration with the District Archive of Évora, the Évora District Archives Network, and CIDEHUS, University of Évora.
The theme is: “Archives: Walking Towards Artificial Intelligence.”
The meeting will take place on June 13 and 14 in the Assembly Hall of the Huelva Museum, and aims to continue the work started in the first edition, held in Évora in 2022.
This will be a technical meeting, serving as a forum for training and exchange, aimed at archive professionals working in various public and private institutions in the border regions between Spain and Portugal, as well as the general public. The goal is to enable both Spanish and Portuguese participants to learn about the advances taking place in the field of Artificial Intelligence, and how process automation, digitization, and digital image processing can assist in document management.
The meeting’s program—already available—will address the challenges of document management, as well as the benefits and risks of the solutions being implemented. Practical experiences currently underway will also be presented, highlighting their potential for the development of future cross-border projects in the archival field.
Registration, open from May 13, is free of charge but limited to venue capacity.
