Film Archives - Session 1

We will begin the cycle of roundtables about cinema and television archives. These events will be a live broadcast on CIDEHUS 'YouTube, and participants can ask questions for comments to the speakers.

Film Archives 

We will begin the cycle of roundtables about cinema and television archives on May 18th. Our guest speakers will be Helen Upcraft, Curator of the Imperial War Museum (IWM), in London; and Ashley Swinnerton, Collection Specialist from the Department of Film of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMa), in New York.

Both presentations will explore the history of one of the oldest Film Archive in the UK but also of the MoMa film department concerning its acquisition, conservation, and dissemination strategies, respectively.

 

 

This is an initiative by CIDEHUS - University of Évora - in partnership with the Master Erasmus Mundus Techniques, Patrimoine et Territoires de l'Industrie coordinated by theconsortium of the University of Évora, University of Paris 1 (Panthéon-Sorbonne), and University of Padua, and four other universities.

 

The debates are moderated by Alexandre Ramos (CIDEHUS - UÉvora) and presented by Ana Cardoso de Matos (CIDEHUS - UÉvora).
